There are certain constraints relating to 3D modeling as the programs use to be quite heavy while they ran on a single system. But with the growing use of the cloud, various software and applications are now cloud-based. The CAD software can be accessed from any part of the world and they do not require any kind of installation process they are well known as SaaS or Software.
This shift to software as a service is changing the thought process for collaborating and working. CAD users are expected to have better collaboration with their teams and this has increased the importance of the cloud. It is also improving the amount of collaboration as it is allowing a large count of people to work on a single file. Expanded collaboration is really important as it helps in improving the quality of teamwork and efficiency.
The CAD software that is cloud-based was quite difficult to imagine a few years ago but now they are everywhere.
Example: On shape had been using cloud-based technology for avoiding crashes and also the problems linked with license compatibilities and keys. While the cloud-based CAD program is being used, one need not worry about data management or upgrades as there is universal access to the data. Do such programs also support the analysis of some kind of data that works around the information who worked on the model? The time is taken to finish the model? There are a few cloud-based tools that enable such analysis and thus can improve the workflow.
Such cloud-based applications have huge advantages and thus are expected to have a wider presence in the market in the coming years. The study states that SaaS companies are growing almost three times faster in terms of sales figures as compared to non-SaaS companies.
